A homage to the past, present, and future of ‘Daum’, it is much more than a digital exploratory exhibition. Rather than just providing information, curiosity is heightened through digital experience to communicate ‘Daum’ brand as the leading IT company. With inspiration from the baobab tree of African savanna, futuristic tree sculpture emerges from the mid-ground of Timeline Hall. Thick trunks and abundant branches stretch out to tell the tales of Daum’s becoming and boundless dreams to come. For full experience of brand’s identity and vision, users can diverge into the pool of exciting media. Under the shade of tree, “seamless” display is brightened through a very thin film, simulating futuristic experience in high definition technology. Moreover, newly published Microsoft Surface2 is incorporated with object tag and multi-touch interface to complete the experience of content design. From the multi-touch table, a selected piece can be thrown on to a large transparent screen to view enlarged texts and images. A story is told through a simple game involving Wii-Fit balance board. Also, a template PC containing Daum’s philosophy and sustainability report can be sent abroad. ‘다음’의 과거와 현재, 미래를 한 눈에 볼 수 있는 디지털 체험 전시관 ‘타임라인관’이 제주 다음스페이스 내에 구축됐다. 대표적인 IT기업의 브랜드 체험관으로서 일방적인 정보 제공 방식을 지양하고 자연스러운 흥미유발을 통해 사용자경험을 유도했다. 타임라인관 정 중앙에는 아프리카 초원에 뿌리를 내리고 하늘로 솟아오르는 바오밥 나무에서 영감을 얻은 미래지향적인 모습의 나무 조형물이 자리잡고 있다. 굵은 기둥과 수많은 가지들을 가진 나무를 통해 다음이 만들어온 다양한 이야기와 앞으로 그려나갈 무한한 미래를 표현했다. 또한 대표 IT기업의 비전과 아이덴티티를 사용자들이 재미있고 자연스럽게 체험하고 이해할 수 있도록 다양한 미디어로 공간을 구성했다. 나무 그늘 아래에는 아주 얇은 필름에서 영상이 보여지는 “seamless”한 디스플레이가 펼쳐진다. 고해상도 후면투사방식 기술을 사용해 보다 미래적인 경험을 제시했다. 더불어 최근 발표되어 판매를 시작한 마이크로소프트의 Surface2를 활용한 태그오브젝트와 멀티터치 인터페이스를 통해 컨텐츠를 경험하게 디자인했다. 멀티터치테이블에서 선택한 메뉴 안의 사진 등의 내용을 정면의 대형 투명스크린으로 던지면 큰 사이즈로 자세한 내용을 텍스트와 영상으로 볼 수 있는 등 신기하고 다양한 기술이 적용되었다. 그 외에도 위핏 발란스 보드를 이용해 가벼운 게임형식의 스토리텔링을 경험하도록 하고, 태블릿PC에 다음의 철학과 실천 내용인 지속가능성보고서를 담아 전달하고 있다.
